Its a hard blow when an investment doesn't work out as expected.
Lots of lessons with this one.
1) The smart boys who were running Candy Club weren't so smart. They had invested large amounts of their own money into Candy Club.
2) I needed to be a lot more suspicious about a company who were making losses but then took on debt... this was the beginning of the end.
3) The Directors were too interested in the short term and a sale of the business rather than growing the business and making it profitable and cashflow positive.
4) I should have been a lot more suspicious about an Australian listed company with Australian based directors with 100% of the business operations in the USA.
