    May not matter much in the interim, but I suspect it's slightly more nuanced than that.

    In the military you are required by law to retire at 65. Obviously the military can choose to ignore the rule of law as they currently have, or they may choose to change this somehow, but that's the rule.
    The top General who initiated the coup is about to turn 65 and like most megalomaniacs he doesn't like the idea of not being in charge. He has long harboured the dream of being the President after retirement. With the large vote against the military 'party' it's become apparent to him that he may not win a popular vote. Hence the current disquiet.

    If he still thinks he may be able to win a popular vote one day he might need to take care as to how the public view him. Means he needs to walk a fine line. If he suspects this may never be the case, then that raises different prospects. Of course if senior younger men about him think this puts them in a bad light, who knows.

    Still a lot of unknowns for how this will play out for the country and our share.
