Looking forward to some news from John Lamb, can't imagine it will be anything positive given the write off situation.

Can imagine China will keep the support with the Junta until parties start offering up jewels as fire sale prices. Only once they have secured these assets will the tide start to turn on the Junta with them loosing the power and being marginalized into insignificance economically while China plunders Myanmar's resources.

Current support for Junta works well for the China economy supplying arms to both side. But Russia and Vietnam are likely competing on this front.

It's hard to see a possible positive outcome for the people of Myanmar other than taking out all Chinese assets and flows of resources while starting a dialog with parties outside Myanmar handling negotiation with China, to support re-establishment of elected government or have all assets burned.

What a hopeless situation, feel for the people of Myanmar.
