There is a thin line between optimistic and ignorant. Please consider the follow example

Say you are trying to sell your house, the agent managed to find a potential buyer. The potential buyer gave you  a cheque of $500, and the 10% deposit is payable in 7 days.

After 7 days, the agent rang you that the buyer still didn't manage to pay the deposit

After 28 days, then agent rang you that the buyer still didn't manage to pay the deposit

After 45 days+, then agent rang you that the buyer still didn't manage to pay the deposit

At that point, while you can still "be optimistic", but seriously, what is the chance the deal will still go through?
