I am sure if you sample all extensions on the ASX properly rather than just relying on your own experience of the stocks you know/own, you will have a bell curve and normal distribution of excellent, good, bad and ugly extension outcome.

Most non-holders: oh no, extension is a bad sign.
Most holders: extension is a good sign.

IMO, I have no idea if the outcome at the end of the extension is good or bad, but one thing for sure: the decision by management to extend the suspension is the right one. Shorters will have a field day if AVZ is out of suspension with ownership issues not 100% put to bed. This way, shorters will continue to have to pay fee and if the end outcome after suspension is good, they burn, if not we holders burn.

Irrespective, IMO, one of these 3 ownership scenarios will happen at the end of suspension:
    1. AVZ owns 51% without CATL (worst case scenario)
    2. AVZ owns 51% with CATL (likely scenario)
    3. AVZ owns 66% with CATL (best case scenario).
