The unwelcome fact is that they gave their word but have not kept it. Whatever their reason, be it good or bad, is beside the point: they were obliged to make an announcement but they didn't.
In this respect they have failed us.
Please show us the respect that is owed us: be true to your word; be true to us. We expect respect.
