Thinking exactly the same here. Effectively they appear to represent the return of US Owned chip manufacturing industry - they are bringing it back in-house. They have strong ties to US Govt and defence contracts. With so much to spend why would the US govt invest anywhere other than with the US-owned fab. There have been some excellent posts already in this forum that led me to go snooping. I like what I see. US Govt has deep pockets, announced they are committed to the next wave of infrastructure - chips, and they want to keep the infrastructure and IP on home soil.
The President has come out and said that Chips are the new frontier and has committed to 50B in spending on infrastructure. Looks like a solid future ahead for these guys.
