Sorry - you are (at least partly) wrong. AVE was previously POH (nothing to do with PNO [which was Pharmanet]; and has never had a capital consolidation (yet?). However they do have a history of capital raisings (as do most small Australian biotechs).
The capital raisings (being the nature of the beast) is not the problem here... unfortunately in AVE's case they have generally been at (sometimes rapidly) decreasing share prices - which breathes life into the body/corpse but comes at a large cost for existing shareholders. Still we were all given ample opportunity to take part in the last raise (presumably on the same terms as was offered to us - according to a quick glance at Fresh Equities).
They report that the offer closed this morning. Hopefully they have raised enough to kick-start the all-important trial.
