Hi Myser. My limited view is that the franking credit is more useful to you than the (deferred) capital loss. Such would particularly be true if your personal marginal tax rate is less than 30% (which it isn't).

I'd prefer the refund (or offset) of credits rather than a possible capital loss offset. I am never confident that a government won't change the rules particularly given the current composition of the Senate. Not financial (nor political) advice. Cheers Keith
