I believe that the minister approved the ARE application, possibly after some agreement with the aboriginal land owners. Probably the same will happen for TAS..............eventually.

I'll probably be called a racist but it is my view that these aboriginal land claims are,in many cases, ridiculous. I know of one case where a sacred water hole was actually dug by my stepfather to use as a pond to hold a mining dredge. After mining finished the dredge was removed and the area was revegetated. A aboriginal group later claimed the area and the waterhole as a sacred site. Nobody is allowed to walk near it now but there is a viewing platform where you can look over an overgrown,weed infested area.
