The company is raising the maximum amount of money it can, while expecting more revenue through acquisitions & grants. Perhaps other options are on the table, we don't know. I believe a SH vote is required if the maximum amount of shares, that are allowed to be issued, is to be exceeded. The company also has its own revenue & the higher the transaction volumes go, the more revenue W2V will generate.

"I notice also that it was not underwritten"

Many companies on the ASX do CR's that are not underwritten.

"If this investor wished to own shares in the company, why on earth would he not buy them in the market."

He's part of management, BOD & has a Top 20 entity invested in W2V. He wants to support the company through the current CR. What's wrong with that? As a former business owner yourself, you should know the owner of a business sometimes has to throw their own money at it for a while, until the entity is successful.

"Why raise at a higher price?"

The CR was calculated from the VWAP. SP was around 5.9 cents when the trading halt hit the market for the current CR.

There was also the whole downturn in global markets from from Central Banks raising rates, Ukraine, supply chain problems & inflation. Look at how much the rest of the ASX fell.

$1 million was raised through a placement from new & institutional investors.

W2V had $2 million COH as of June, and almost $1 million from a backlog of client receipts & government grants. At the last investor conference, Amos suggested the cash burn would be only $700K this quarter. A significant drop from the last quarter.
