Licences can only be taken away due to breaches of the mining agreement or law, however now they are moving to 5 year licences there is some risk in a high risk country of shenanigans on the renewal.
I've operated gold mining operations in two countries in Africa and you would be surprised how often Australians don't bother complying with ALL of the Laws. I've always thought this was a top team so this should be an issue but there is the issue of ALL laws.
