I am sure ajgeo or someone else with greater technical knowledge than me will reply, but as I see it they had to increase the mud weights to arrest the influx of gas which was creating unstable and dangerous conditions.
In doing this the combination of the high pressure gas and heavy mud with the drilling equipment has created a less than perfect well bore (sides not clean but rather more churned up).
This has compromised the well logs as the logger needs a tight fit to the well bore to get accurate info.
This means the top part 8m was able to be logged whilst the bottom section would have had logs but they are compromised enough not to be fully accurate for market release.
The fact they needed heavy mud to keep control of the gas flows and it was continuous throughout the 74m bodes well as it suggests they needed to keep the mud weights up to keep those continued gas shows under control.

As ajgeo said, it would be good to know if there were anymore drilling breaks through the rest of the section which may indicate more of the same as was found in the top 8m.
