The fact they needed heavy mud to keep control of the gas flows and it was continuous throughout the 74m bodes well as it suggests they needed to keep the mud weights up to keep those continued gas shows under control.

As ajgeo said, it would be good to know if there were anymore drilling breaks through the rest of the section which may indicate more of the same as was found in the top 8m.

To clarify: for this rock and pressure setting, the low mud weight results on borehole breakout and crappy logging conditions. The cure is higher mud weights.
