I was going over that slide last week and I thought id had my head around it, then I read the words, and I got confused a bit. Heres the slide.



Im assuming these are gamma logs. When the line goes to the left, there is low clay content (= sand rich - clean sandstones) to the right and its clay rich - silt or mudstones. Dont have porosity logs so hard to comment on porosity. They've called it the top of the basal wagina here, but in the words of subsequent presentations, they refer to gas flowing from within the wagina and the basal wagina, whilst containing gas, did not have sufficient porosity to flow. Im a little confused, but I also know that picking tops and bottoms is pretty subjective and until you get good well control in a field, you can only go by nearby published info. Ive no doubt once the WE field is drilled out and the stratigraphy tied in, we will see the establishment of new stratigraphy for this area.

btw, The bit that blew me away was the Gamma trace, being consistent for most of that upper section in the Basal Wagina shown on this slide, but only 10 m of pay was later attributed to it - I took this as the co being conservative, and saving an upside surprise for when they had better data...i.e.. during WE-4. Pure speculation of course, but thats the game here.
