BPT moving into renewables!
From the AFR:
Belgian billionaires join Beach Energy for offshore wind tilt
A renewable energy company built by a Belgian billionaire retailing family has joined with Beach Energy to compete for a licence to develop wind farm projects off Victoria.
Parkwind has submitted a joint bid with the ASX-listed oil and gas group Beach in the European group’s first push into the Australian market as it attempts to double the size of its global business by 2025. It already has $3 billion worth of offshore wind projects operating in Belgium and Germany.
Parkwind holds 75 per cent of the bidding entity, with Beach 25 per cent. It also marks the first push by Beach into offshore wind farms, outside its core business of oil and gas.
————
“With our offshore wind expertise and Beach Energy’s proven track record in Australian offshore operations, we bring a world-leading solution to support Victoria’s, and by extension, Australia’s green energy ambitions,” he said.
