Always good to get some contrarian opinions. And no board and management team is above questioning.
I do, however, wonder sometimes when the share price is low, people start complaining about all manner of things (i.e. they let the share price determine their view of the fundamentals rather than vis-a-versa).
For me, raising concerns about corporate governance risks missing the forest for the trees. We've got a gorilla playing hardball, dragging their feet on WE, suppressing the share price, and firing shots across the bow at the AGM (at least, SN had the courage to front up in person to the WGO AGM).
If people want an explanation for the languishing shareprice - this is it. Not the failure of management and board to implement the company's business plan.
Again, mistakes have been made (ie over-egging the upside of WE/SE and assuming good results based on questionable data for the SE2/3 wells) and no company is above critique, but at this juncture jumping up and down about minor corporate governance issues (as Mayne did) is akin to rearranging the chairs on the Titanic. Strike is at serious risk of being taken over for far below what it's worth. I only hope people realise this and decide not to sell (at least, on market)
if and when a lowball offer comes. I also hope people can distinguish the fundamentals of the company from the current share price.
Again, not saying people don't have the right to raise their concerns, but it seems like a peripheral issue with everything else that's going on.
