Japanese companies have problems moving quickly in takeover situations. That's my experience in another area. So many meetings to have, boxes to tick, layers of management to work through the details. They don't do anything impulsively. [Though they do have unrivalled abilities in other areas, such as perfecting a process]. Very likely they'll be still in conference when the early bird has caught this worm.
