I don't know how Speedtest works, but could the speed increase be down to caching on the Wangle servers? Someone said that the first time they used a different speed site it was slow, but the next time it was noticeably quicker. Caching will definitely come into it - if you browse a site that someone else with the app has already browsed it'll be much quicker as it comes direct from a WGL server.
Now if only every device had the chip or the app, and WGL had unlimited server space...
