Looks like the holdup is to do with Apple wanting a slice of subscription fees. Not sure what the issue is here - I have an app that takes subscriptions outside of the app itself (via a website) and Apple don't get a cut at all.
Hopefully resolved soon, or the free model could end up costing WGL a fortune.
