Mate, that is a massively oversimplified generalisation. What I’ve seen is the ASX is viewed as more stable for small fish, instead of diving straight into big pond (the Nasdaq), they list here, grow and then jump ship when they won’t get buried in the shadows of $19 trillion of tech stocks. The ASX is worth 1/10th of the Nasdaq, across all sectors. This means small caps get more attention, hence are more likely to receive the support they need to grow. Many small caps on the ASX fail, in general, regardless of base of operations. To say international companies list only list on the ASX if they’re shit is akin to saying only successful companies list on the Nasdaq... now I know you’re not stupid enough to think the Nasdaq is full of diamonds.

Also, how do you think a company who does no business in the USA would fair on a US index? Americans invest in America; Australia invests in the rest of the world, because we simply don’t have enough going on here to satisfy us.
