So the argument was “if they were any good they would have listed on the Nasdaq”, then you switch to “They wouldn’t get buried because you need to be of a certain size and couldn’t have listed anyway”. I’m well aware of the size requirement to list, which is what I mean about growing then jumping. US$75m (the lower limit) is still a drop in the big pond; they still struggle to get attention, especially when not a domestic company. Ten times that valuation is still considered small on the Nasdaq. So get your argument straight.

ASX, like most of Australia, is trying to standout and compete with the rest of the world. They actively market themselves to international companies, so it’s not like the international companies are using it as a safe haven, they’re being poached/encouraged. Going public is crucial for most tech companies to grow, and that’s much harder to do abroad, for reasons you’ve pointed out. What this does is encourage smaller companies to list prematurely, leading to unproven tech stocks flooding the ASX (Australian, US, Israeli alike). You’re condemning all Israeli companies purely on the basis of them being Israeli based, when in reality Australians are too eager to invest in new tech stocks, regardless of where they’re from or how viable the tech/business model seems; excluding companies which seem to have excellent models, simply because others have underperformed, means you’ll miss out when the minority succeed. A lot of ASX listed US based companies have underperformed too, I don’t see you holding the same sentiment towards US companies.

Second, Foreign listings: https://www2.asx.com.au/listings/why-list-on-asx/international-companies You’ll find stats and specific lists there. 47 US companies, 56 NZ, 16 Singapore, 10 Malaysia, 10 Canada, 3 Ireland... it’s a mixed bunch as far as success is concerned.

Third, I can’t list any off hand. I’ve seen plenty of companies grow and jump ship, but to track back where they all started is well beyond the scope and time of me proving a point to a stranger.
