I held a pile of stock in a US (GTAT) company who made sapphire ingots to be cut into mobile phone screens for Apple iPhones. Apple would have been a major and exclusive customer, but they drove too fast a pace for GTAT to keep up with. GTAT had to buy a whole regiment of new machines to make ingots and drove them too fast. The result? The screens had too many flaws in them. Apple essentially drove GTAT into the ground and they went broke. I lost my entire investment when the shares became worthless.
The lesson: do not get into bed with a T-Rex if you are just a little lizard starting out on your first date.
Find someone who respects your abilities and limitations.
Find another company to deal with that you can keep up with - find a tier 2 or smaller. The big fellas will come once you've proved your ability!
