Here we go again, people focus mainly on the water issue rather than on the obvious which is reservoir quality.

Well comparisons between Waitsia, Beharra Deep and WE in terms of net pay and average porosities have been put out plenty of times and it is rather obvious from all the published info including some limited log data that both WE4 but more so WE5 have tighter reservoir rock. When you are dealing with tight rock it will give you what it allows to flow. Yet, STX made these comments after logging the well back in June







Yes, there might be some skin but questions need to be asked why that invasion did not occur with the previous two completed WE wells. Re-perforating those zones with bigger guns or placing acid across those zones might give them better connectivity if there is indeed near well bore damage and a longer term test will be required to validate if better connectivity can be established beyond that near zone.
