"Does this not mean we have more results to come? "

    Yes.

Grind samples up, ensure proper traceability
    Nitric acid microwave digestion
Most likely ICP analysis possibly basic flame AAS, if you don't know what is in the sample matrix, you might need to change your methods.
It's why you can't just XRF everything, different dielectrics and paramagnetic/diamagnetic ores and native metals would mean XRF would require non-mobile instrumentation and much more data collection and processing, subject to interpretation without massive amounts of data and calibration.
Maybe even coulometry (eww, mercury AND analytical grade nitric acid)
Graphite furnace AAS can even be done if calibrations are tricky (hey, it looks cool but sample prep can be a chore)

These tests would be performed as replicates using trace-to-ultra-trace analysis (ppm to ppb levels), either for resource estimation or further mathematical modelling of where to drill next.

it is expensive and time-consuming. Each sample replicate might cost $150. Keep in mind they have over 3000 m of samples to analyse.

A 50-metre intersection of mafics/sulphides could be very good.

They may not have found many nickel-bearing holes but their nickel grade is above the commercial cut-off grade, the issue is the Chinese have moved heavily into nickel in Indonesia recently.
