I read a case report where ReCell was sprayed on to a full thickness wound in an attempt not to graft it. It initially looked as though it might work but after 10 days the sprayed on cells all died and fell off and it had to be grafted. Recell can help fill small gaps between wider meshed grafts on healthy dermis, such as that regenerated by BTM. Really Recell is just an expensive plastic dish with a temperature controlled heater and timer. It's convenience at a huge price. All operating theatres now have a thermometer, kidney dish, syringes and a wall clock with a precision timer already. Less than $10 plus a bottle of trypsin to dissolve the donor skin.
The NICE review NHS experts in the UK rejected it twice because the claims didn't stand up to scrutiny. That doesn't mean it doesn't work as an adjunct to skin grafting, it does. It just means that the company's cost-benefit claims don't stack up. Anyone who could prepare a bottle of baby formula feed at the correct temperature could do it. (I guess that rules out a lot of younger flight attendants though, in my experience).
