Well, he is talking about Ukraine as first option because they owe the USA around half a trillion dollars, likely more because a lot of the money trail is yet to be determined. Zelensky says it was "lost" and "didn't arrive" lol. Their second choice seems to be Greenland, but we await the elections over there next month. No doubt the USA are pulling the strings there and will make sure the election goes in their favour to seek independence - which would mean easy and cheap resource deals for the USA (without Denmark being a factor at ruining the plan).
Going down the path of Australian REE's would be a lot more costly, but hopefully their Ukraine and Greenland plans both fall through, and the USA is forced to buy at market rates from allies like Australia.
