There will be plenty of gold looking bars, all accounted for. How many are substituted is the key question?
The key basis of an audit is it should be unannouced, not telegraphed and made into a photo op.
The key issue I see is that one gold bar is on sold (leveraged, arbitraged) 500x through ETF.
Sounds similar to CFDs to me, how leveraged can you go, who made decision that a 500x leverage is acceptable?
Banks in comparison are legislated to (in aust) to 10x tier 1 capital ( which includes gold)
