The Future Made in Australia Act has a massive agenda with many parts, from sqillions of $$$ handed out to the dramatic changes in the rules of the playing field, many of which will only become evident after much consultation with the wording of the act, the changes to the foreign investment alone are remarkable in power. In a nut shell "low risk" and "repeat" foreign investors can expect fast tracking. Conversely, foreign investment in "sensitive sectors" (critical minerals is one of them) will be considered on a national security basis with appropriate regulatory intervention. Below is a snapshot of some announced cash spend, much more is to be spent and the budget will inform on much of this next Tuesday 14th May. COB is so tiny in the whole picture it would be just about invisible in $ value terms, however it may well be in a politically more promenent position due to its two WA critical minerals refining products - nickle and cobalt.
