SN said they have engaged Macquarie for defensive strategy.
Regarding the short-selling, they provided the company with a pretty stock-standard explanation for it (i.e. ASX200 entry/exit and increased involvement of large funds).
Someone asked whether there had been a takeover offer, which he responded with "if there were anything the board considered necessary to inform shareholders about, we would have informed the market"... or something to that effect. I suppose a simple "no" has downsides, too.
SN has to answer these questions with a straight bat to avoid looking like he's part of the tinfoil hat brigade. Fortunately, there are no such constraints on HC posters
