And just on shorting, one of the stocks I own which is shorted (CHN) left the ASX200 on 18/3/2024 and at that point 6.32% of the stock was shorted, now as at 24/7/2024 10.93% of the stock is shorted. Now perhaps they are expecting a credit raise (even though company has enough cash for next 2 years).
Now each company can be shorted for different and varied reasons but removal from ASX200 won’t guarantee price appreciation due to institutions having to exit positions.
