Seriously? Read the forum.
Record date is tomorrow, if you buy a stock now you don't own it until settlement date T+2.
So you wouldn't 'own' the share you bought today until Monday, thus not being eligible for the $1.70 offer.
How do people not grasp this simple investment 101 concept of settlement.
