Ann: Weebit Nano files new patents on ReRAM improvements, page-107

Could someone please enlighten me on how patents work?.
I was having a read through Ishai Navehs background and he has co-invented and filed patents with Adesto being the 'asignee'

Now that Ishai is onboard with Weebit, would this be a strategic employment to utilise his patents (if possible)?.
If so is there anyone that can describe the patents held in laymans terms?

Patents look like they dont have a quick turn around from application to approval so before any penetration into China i would like to see the patents approved over there.

A commercial agreement with South Korea is my preference here.

Note- im not worried that China will steal the tech as they could get thier hands on the early stage tech but i see Weebits IP changing per customer/consumer so it would be VERY hard for a foriegn company to 'steal' or mimic the tech completely.

If any malicious behaviour was seen, im sure there would be no further dealings resulting in the loss of revenue for that malicious co and a plunge back into the dark ages.. with their competitors pushed forward by light years in comparison.
