    How HotCopper works:
Man who was once in a company, reveals concerns about said company, sells out. To a cacophony of insults, rudeness, and general snark. Those with their net worth invested in the company are on the precipice of wishing death on the poster. The interest in the company continues, and the general discussion about basic financials come up in every new announcement. The average holder with a "Buy" posts rubbish, gets many likes, and the information is either misleading, low value or disingenuous to the company's value add perspective. Any contrary opinions of this are shouted down by members of a financial cult. The objective takes are seen as propaganda, paid posting or someone with a vested interest (short) - it is inconceivable to post anything but positive rhetoric. The company tends to spiral down further, of which if posters were able to digest the concerns appropriately, would have exited with a smaller loss or consolidate their gains. This continues until complete capitulation. For those people being objective, expect no apologies, and from some of the most devout zealots, expect no admittance of fault. The cocksureness of posters, if they are being honest, is likely due to the fact they have fallen in love with a company, it has become their identity. They told their friends, family, loved ones, community, co-workers, etc how this was the next big thing, they, a lone contrarian in the world looking elsewhere are going to be early. They calculate the number of shares by some random value picked out and imagine... Their home/s totally paid off, a lambo, holidaying or retiring early! "Wow... If only I could get my hands on more Weebits" They think.

    The real world:
People don't need to be purely motivated by self-interest or dependent on their wealth to comment on certain things (have a Buy/Held sentiment - maybe you should ask HotCopper to remove this feature).
