DP - you literally put it on a shelf .....this is what Ilan (Sever) did for life
put the product with the information and the factories that manufacture for you 'on the shelf' ...people come in with the minimum support ...'low touch'...buy the product....= $$$$$ leveraging expertise and developing product for the emerging trends = more $$$$$
this is ingenious strategic planning and execution which is why this management team is such a stand out ( not my opinion, but recognised industry opinion and strategy) - and it is potentially worth a lot of coin imo....
context important to understand why...so...
the trending progression across the industry for the last few years is away from companies buying in their product supply...thats the old model based around monolithic engineering and engineers trained accordingly....
a few companies recognised this early and pivoted....Intel ( oddly enough didn't capitalise ...suggest had DP remained there instead of Brian Krzanich that is what would be on the shelf now and they would be dominant in the space) AMD and Nvidia are the other 2...this is what is possible with this approach - Link:

the cost benefit as DP was suggesting without stating in ' on the shelf' module / chiplet format is a
30% cost improvement adding further to that gross margin benefit = $$$$$
This approach of wbt will deliver in spades if they can execute ( as they have been to date) because it is a proven pathway ( as exampled above) and they are now achieving industry firsts....with unique material and technical team by any measure within this space ( OTS - demonstrated reram subsystem imminent etc etc...)
CH made the point the closest was Adesto ....then acquired by Dialogue ...now owned by Renesas (5.9B USD price tag) and the original Adesto Reram development / product has sunk into the closet (my term )......no expertise or significant cost advantage to production to drive it forward amongst other reasons.

This 'off the shelf'
low touch marketability was reinforced when CH suggested the memory compiler was next off the development bench in this 'product' category....that indicates that they are (Ilan and the technical team) removing the monolithic engineering/ engineers previously mentioned from the process and the memory compiler - in conjunction with Silvaco design tools - will meet the customer design requirement without heavy personal engagement .....= imroved gross margin again = $$$$

For those concerned about Leti R&D ....ffs...60% payment rebate against block development payments to Leti as the packages are met over time ....(

I hope Ilan Sever and the whole technical team involved get a pay increase on the next pay negotiation review - highly deserved.
