Hi @Archibaldheeren. I beg to differ. I believe the figure in that diagram is the estimated earnings from ReRAM's share of the NVM market. As @Jay0011 says, it is IP revenue.
I would not think WBT would go to all this trouble and expense for an earn of only 1.5% or so of 1B. The larger amount of 30% of 1B is realistic and the figure should turn out to be much larger if/when ReRAM takes some of the MRAM market share.
Let's take the example of a full SoC. This contains a processor, i/o components and other specialised stuff and a memory module. There are lots of costs involved: Wafer cost, masks, licensing and royalties for various components, profit for the foundry, profit for the designer, transport costs and licensing and royalty for the NVM. Let's assume the licensing and royalty for the NVM is 1 to 2% of the total chip cost. Totalled for all the chips in the market this gives $1B. Then WBT scores 30% of that figure.
