I would take any broker's 'advice' with a grain of salt, as it is their duty in life to inform retail investors the direct opposite advice to the advice they really need. For all you know it could be your very own broker providing an explanation as to why the SP is crumbling, meanwhile he's aggressively short selling. I highly recommend watching the below video as to how retail investors are manipulated and sucked in by brokers:
