I guess too the maximum you can get via the SPP is 6,000 shares for a total spend of $30,000.
If buying on market half an hour ago at $4.90 then you'd end up with an extra 122 shares (albeit they're guaranteed, while the SPP may be scaled back). At the minimum SPP spend of $2,500 it's only an extra 10 shares.
So I can see why some people, particularly if they've got a substantial enough holding, will decide it makes more sense to forgo up to 120odd shares in order to help to ensure their purchase ends up as cash in the bank so that WBT can further accelerate things.
I guess too the maximum you can get via the SPP is 6,000 shares...
