A group of wealthy Australians who backed the technology investment fund run by Ben Weiss, iVentures Asia Ltd, are about to have a have a nice pay day thanks to Samsung's imminent purchase of Israeli optical zooming company Corephotonics.
Corephotonics, which is one of a number of Israeli companies in the iVentures portfolio, is being bought by Samsung for about $US160 million ($224 million), which is about three times the capital invested.
