Brilliant question and the answer lies in the middle somewhere ...certainly the latest developments increase the attractiveness of what is on offer
lets face it - Skywater took the punt to be first mover partnership with a minimum in the way of commercial viability so it can only improve as more developments unfold and progress is made - seems plenty of people talking to them on the back of the LETI demo qually so its certainly bringing much welcome attention Miklos ....
as they state...
and with an expanded target market thanks to the selector...
'Further development of ReRAM selector means it is now suitable for both embedded and discrete applications
Significantly increasing the number of target applications
Demonstrated the ability of the selector to achieve high densities required for discrete chips while using fab-friendly
materials and standard tools
Selector is also suitable for future embedded applications that will benefit from higher densities, such as edge AI and
automotive
Latest progress paves the way for the selector to be easily integrated into any CMOS fab
Reduces manufacturing costs, complexity and potentially enabling high-capacity memory arrays while keeping size
and power requirements to a minimum'
most definitely I think the flood gates will open once Skywater lots are successfully qualified ... the lead in to mid 23 should be well worth waiting for if all proceeds as expected.
