Yes, pretty much. They drilled into a big hole, with no circulation, (also meaning no returns to surface, which gives a good indication of possible reservoir remnants), and lost 10,000bbls, (nearly 1.6mil litres), which is alot of of drilling fluid. Extremely large cavern with no real idea what's in it. O/H W/L will most likely be inconclusive... It will be most likely need to be completed and tested at minimum if they're confident. Could also be a large waste of money with a completion and testing program to flow 10,000bbls + out of a well..... (Most likely, including HD Slickline (.160") or B/L swabbing). Does any one know if these Ungani wells are free flowing or require artificial lift?
