Thanks all for your comments, they mirror my own.
I have done the same as evansc6 a couple of times (reduced LSF to buy HM1) which in the short term has not helped.
But y justification is as described above (1) 6% FF return while I am waiting (2) chance of a buyback / takeover / liquidation (3) one year they might strike lucky with their portfolio and actually outperform! In which case the return will be leveraged and the discount will narrow.
Nevertheless, it is still frustrating to watch for anyone who has anything but the patience of Job.
