Short week but good weekly performance for the published holdings. The estimated weekly performance will be 3% or NTA $2.64 at 9am next Tuesday. Buying at $2.17 (20% discount) makes sense but selling at $2.17 into no liquidity does not. Still, a hold/accumulate for me. I'm liking the increase to short positions (now at 19%) in this market. I've got a mini pullback penned from April 9 or 12. I would like VGI to have raw commodity exposure.

    Weekly News:
    • AUD/USD - can't see anything much happening here. Plenty of support at .755 .
    • CME group announced micro bitcoin futures trading. 1/10 the standard bitcoin size. Yawn.
    • Pinterest had a positive analyst note from Vertical Group which says Pinterest is growing share in e-commerce advertising budgets. I use Pinterest all the time and surprised by the number of clicks on ads I make.
    • Amazon had negative press surrounding underpaid workers and conditions by unions - again. Having to defecate and urinate in bags sort of stuff. Amazon is also accused of paying minimum wage and unions argue that a living wage should be paid. Despite this, the SP ended higher for the week.
    • Mastercard's competitor Visa is allowing settlement in crypto for purchases on it's network. Visa up 4% vs 1.38% for MC. Seeking alpha published a very positive story for Master Card
    • Olympus finished the regeneration transaction and also purchased Itnd which is an interesting treatment for BPH with a modality between surgery and medication. The clinical data for version 2 isn't convincing, particularly for someone with a Urology background. Looks useful for someone who really didn't have any real problem to start with. I wonder since the 950 job layoff in December how the books are looking. Olympus should be a growth story but perhaps the camera DSLR business was a major drag.
    • SAP 4% jump puzzled me. I read that SAP will announce this week new intelligent insights capabilities as part of SAP Logistics Business Network. This will help companies gain insight into all current shipments and how they are likely to be impacted by interruptions like the stuck Ever given.
    • Switzerland's Richemont (OTCPK:CFRHF) reportedly rejected an informal bid from French luxury good maker Kering (OTCPKPRUF) in January.
    • FDJ - no news is good news. February saw an increased dividend.
    • IAC will soon spin off Vimeo which is probably their best business IMO. What VGI do with the spin off I dont know.
    • Otis presented a convincing story of their ESG compliance at the annual ESG meeting.
