When I was a little boy, I recall my mother pulled me aside and whispered in my ear something along the lines of:
“Son, always remember that there are 2 types of people out there in this world:
1) those that believe LICs will trade at a discount to their NTA backing forever, and...
2) those who don’t believe that LICs will forevermore trade less than their NTA value.”
The observation that Geoff Wilson has recently chosen to establish a new Australian LIC to invest in LICs that are trading at a discount to their NTA leads me to think that he might be in the latter group of people in the world!
