It’s no doubt that several factors have detracted from performance in the past year or 2. However, the market pricing of Amazon, their top holding for some time, has been a contributor.
It goes perhaps without saying that if Amazon were to be priced 50% higher than the price at last VGI report, the VG1 NTA would be, as an estimate before tax and dilution from the probable selling down of the position for portfolio balancing, $2.37 while a 100% increase would lift the NTA to $2.54 (though probably there’d be other stocks that would have risen too in this scenario).
Of course, the opposite is true also.
