Not too shabby this week (WoW) to 5.30amAEST. The market has been down .44% overall but many holdings outperformed. Choppy trade during the week may have assisted the shorts. The market seems to be chasing clean energy, green and commodities for the past week, none of which are directly inside the VG1 portfolio. Though, most companies herein have green policies. I feel these will be the new long-term winners. Although, iIf inflation is the long-term theme, how can we go wrong holding the VG1 niche businesses whom have pricing power and ticket clipping capabilities?
The volume has been low for the last 6 weeks suggesting a wait and see (no reason to sell/no reason to buy) approach for VG1 holders. MACD cross was yesterday so this might be the run higher......or not. Going forward, on a price-earnings basis there is still room for downside since the known long portfolio has a PE (ex shorts) of approx 36 times. Suddenly markets are looking at PE's it seems. Let us all hope the shorts can offset any future loss.
The weekly NTA performance in theory should be positive when published on Monday. However, the SP at $1.56 is face-ripping and I feel pity for my negative balance and also for those at HQ. You go to work and try to do a good job only to receive underperformance. We are all in now and it isn't the time to panic which seems to be what the volume is showing....... well so far anyway.
