I'm probably somewhat older than you and started following shares in my early teens, which has given me a greater number of crazy things to choose from. The current situation reminds me somewhat of the end of the 1974 bear market as far as steepness goes, though the '74 bear was well off the top before it went vertical. However, without doubt the craziest market I've witnessed was the culmination of the mining boom at the end of the '60s, the so-called 'Poseidon' nickel boom. The Money Miners by Trevor Sykes is an entertaining history of the era.
