I believe a general rule of thumb is multiply indicated development time lines by 3 and you are likely to be close to the mark. We need to manage our expectations. These projects are risky which is why when (if) they payoff you get the big return. If you have the belief, the patience and ability to handle a loss this could be a great investment. If you don't then don't invest.
