Geothermal One, Earth Heat may expand Argentine project to 180 MW
June 13, 2012 10:47 CEST Print (SeeNews) - Jun 13, 2012 - Canadian geothermal firm Geothermal One and Australia's Earth Heat Resources (ASX:EHR) consider expanding the Copahue project in Argentina to between 100 MW and 180 MW, Argentina's federal planning ministry said yesterday. The project, located at the Copahue volcano in Neuquen province, includes an initial geothermal development of 30 MW and a 132 kV power line. The initial project will cost USD 134 million (EUR 107.2m) and its development will start in the last week of June, it was announced after a meeting between minister Julio De Vido and representatives of the companies. The geothermal plant will supply Camargo Correa's cement maker Loma Negra as well as Electrometalurgica Andina and Xstrata (LON:XTA). (USD 1 = EUR 0.800)
