I'm having a little trouble interpreting this announcement. Would love to hear from someone with drilling or geology experience.
From what I can tell, this report by SKM means that we only have to drill three holes (optional four holes) for stage 1 with approx 15MWe per hole. As I understand it, stage 1 is intended to be a 50MW plant.
The original plan was for four holes to supply a 30MW plant. Then Torey got an increase in funding for a 50MW plant, so I was expecting another two or three holes.
Does this announcement indicate that we have essentially doubled the estimated capacity per hole?
Btw, I like the fact that we are only drilling 1500m. A whole lot shallower than some of the drilling being undertaken in Australian geothermal projects.
